Simbu (Silambarasan Rajendar) was born on 3 February 1983 to famous director, music composer, actor, screenwriter and politician Vijaya T. Rajendar and former actress Usha Rajendar. Simbu is the eldest of three children, his younger brother is Kuralarasan Rajendar and he has a younger sister named Ilakiya Rajendar. Simbu attended The Ashram School in Chennai and completed an Audio Engineering Course.
Simbu began his acting career doing many minor uncredited roles as a child artist in films produced by his father T. Rajendar. Simbu made his debut under his father’s direction in 2002 and has since acted in several films in lead roles.
Silambarasan has acted on nearly 19 films as a child artist in his father T. Rajendar’s films. A few of them are Thai Thangai Paasam, Oru Vasantha Geetham, En Thangai Kalyani, Enga Veetu Velan, Monisha En Monalisa, Oru Thayin Sabhatham, Samsara Sangeetham, Shanti Enathu Shanti, Pettredutha Pillai, and Sabash Babu.
Simbu debut in movies as a hero came in the form of Kadhal Azhivathillai. After his second film Dum, Kuthu was released. It was his first movie which was a hit and that gave him an entry into the Kollywood film industry, which also ran for 100 days. Read the rest of this entry »
